Archaeology, Heritage and Climate Change in Eastern Africa
We have a special edition coffee morning this week - we're delighted to be welcoming Elgidius Ichumbaki, Sinyati Mark, and Neema Munisi from the University of Dar es Salaam who are currently being hosted in Dublin by the UCD School of Archaeology. They will be joined by their collaborator Richard Bates (University of St. Andrews) and will be talking about the archaeology and coastal heritage of the western Indian Ocean and two Gulfs. This region has a rich history of occupation and trade but is now at the forefront of impacts from both climate change in the form of sea level rise and associated storm activity and also from periodic natural disasters such as tsunami.
