UCD Proudly Made in Africa Fellowship
The UCD Proudly Made in Africa Fellowship programme aims to include Africa and sustainable development in business education. Co-created in 2012, this is a partnership between UCD College of Business and the Proudly Made in Africa (PMIA) social enterprise based in Ireland that collaborates with SMEs in Africa to obtain access to global markets of their ready-to-retail, African-made products. The Fellowship project focuses on changing the perceptions and narratives about Africa and embedding the ideals of running sustainable businesses in and with Africa in business education and research across the island of Ireland. Dr. David Nyaluke discusses how the fellowship addresses and challenges fixed ideas and historical stereotypes about Africa which inhibit the continent being studied as a business subject and destination that is dynamic and diverse with a vibrant society, business community, and market.
