Education and the carbon intensity of wellbeing: a regional analysis
Education is widely regarded as an important social mechanism for enhancing human wellbeing. But what is the relationship between a country’s education profile and sustainable development? Orla shares her findings from a cross-national panel analysis of the relationship between per capita rates of educational attainment, and a measure of eco-social sustainability, the carbon intensity of wellbeing (CIWB). She also considers how regionally specific historical, cultural, and geopolitical contexts may have influenced this relationship.
