Geophysics field campaign on Mt Etna, Sep 2019
Carried out by researchers from GFZ (Germany), INGV (Italy), and Ivan Lokmer from School of Earth Sciences, UCD (Ireland). Taking out the broadband seismic stations and fibreoptical cables deployed since July 2019 to monitor volcanic activity. The data will be used for the collaborative research between the outlined institutions to check the feasibility of using fibreoptics as alternative device for researching and monitoring volcanoes.
