UCD School of Education Professor Deirdre Raftery’s latest book launch
A new book by Professor Deirdre Raftery, Dr Catriona Delaney and Dr Catherine Nowlan-Roebuck has been launched in Cork. Nano Nagle: the Life and the Legacy, has been described by leading international scholars as ‘ground-breaking’ in its positioning of women within the historical narrative in education. The book appears during the tercentenary of the birth of education pioneer Nano Nagle, whose service of the poor in Cork resulted in a global network of schools for girls that now reaches to Australia, Africa, India and much of North America.
