Equality, Social Justice & Sustainability
This theme explores key issues on equality and social justice in schooling and education, formal and informal, and the role of education in and for sustainable development. Through the exploration of children, young people, and adult voices and experiences this theme identifies dynamics of power, in/equalities and the realisation of social justice in and through education. This research agenda includes human rights, participation, pedagogies for social justice, exploring the intersectionality between citizenship, education, future skills, ethics, intercultural and environmental education. This research includes practices, pedagogies, institutional, cultural policies as they relate to various dimension of the lifespan, embracing children, young people and adults including parents, teachers, school leaders and policy leaders. Throughout this endeavour, the commitments and motivations are to promote social justice in and through education and contribute to fair, equal and sustainable societies.
