The theme is interdisciplinary in nature as it employs expertise from multiple fields, including History, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Educational Sciences, as well as Natural Sciences and Mathematics, to provide insights on historical and contemporary debates around diverse pedagogies and principles of effective teaching, learning and leading. A range of methodological approaches are adopted, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods. The theme explores the dynamic relationship between these disciplines and interests from early childhood to higher education, critically interrogating its policies, practices and procedures, seeking new insights for quality improvements within the school community and beyond..
