When I joined UCD four years ago Seán made me feel so welcome with his kindness and incredible sense of humour. A chat with him would be a highlight of my day. I have many fond memories of him telling us all hilarious stories in the common room over a cup of tea. We both shared a love of Schlieren imaging and often talked about potential projects. It was a shock to hear of his untimely passing. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Please accept my deepest condolences. Dr. Kevin Nolan
