Two University College Dublin engineering graduates are featured in this year’s (opens in a new window)Forbes ‘30 Under 30 Europe’ listings.
Twins Conor and Ronan Burke, who both studied at the UCD School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, were recognised in the publication's 'Technology' section for their company Inscribe.
Founded in 2017 by the Limerick brothers after they graduated, the company automates the process of identifying fraudulent documents.
Its system is designed to scan documents such as bank statements and tax returns, and help businesses to catch fraudulent activity when requiring proof of income, proof of address, or proof of expense information.
The Forbes list, which is published annually, includes young people who are seen as transforming business, technology, finance, media, healthcare, science, policy, social entrepreneurship, retail and the arts and entertainment.
"As College Principal in the College of Engineering and Architecture, I am delighted to see two of our graduates listed in the "Forbes 30 under 30 Europe" list,” said (opens in a new window)Professor Aoife Ahern, College Principal and Dean of Engineering.
“Their inclusion in this list recognises their significant contribution to business and technology, through the innovative work done by their company, Inscribe."
Six Irish people were among the 300 people from 10 different industries across 32 countries to feature in the 2020 listing.
Forbes – one of the world's leading financial publications - said their '30 Under 30 Europe' list was “the result of thousands of international nominations, months of investigative reporting and the seal of approval from our panel of blue ribbon judges”.
“The 2020 Under 30 Europe list spotlights entrepreneurs who are making a difference, creating businesses with purpose and leading their respective industries.”
