Maria Helena Kopschitz Scholarship for MA in Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama, University College Dublin, 2017 - Announcement and Call for Applications

The School of English, Drama and Film, University College Dublin, is pleased to announce the continuation of the Maria Helena Kopschitz Scholarship to enable a Brazilian student to pursue the MA in Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama, University College Dublin. The scholarship honours the pioneering contribution to Irish studies in Brazil made by Professor Maria Helena Kopschitz. The scholarship entitles the holder to full tuition (international fee) for the one-year course (September 2017 to August 2018) and a bursary of €14,000 to cover accommodation costs. A €2,000 travel bursary is also available. Application Procedure
The competitive award will be judged by a selection committee; applications will be judged by academic qualifications and professional suitability for the Masters in Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama programme. Candidates must have completed a Bachelors programme to high honours level in a Brazilian university in a degree in Literature or Letters by date of application, and may be currently enrolled in or have completed a Masters degree in English. Candidates must also meet all criteria for acceptance to UCD’s Master programmes in English (including provision of academic transcripts and successful completion of UCD English language requirements; see below).

Applications for the award should be sent by 30 April 2017 to Professor Margaret Kelleher ((opens in a new window)Margaret.O.Kelleher@ucd.ie) comprising (1) full CV; (2) personal statement (1-2 pages) indicating suitability for the bursary award; (3) academic transcript; (4) evidence of completion of UCD English language requirements; and (5) sample of recent academic writing in English on a literary subject (max 3,000 words). The applicant should also nominate two referees, whose references should be sent directly to Professor Margaret Kelleher by the closing date.
