Dr. Niall Muldoon is the (opens in a new window)Ombudsman for Children and his vision is to see an Ireland where all children and young people are actively heard and respected so that they experience safe, fulfilling and happy everyday lives. He was appointed in February 2015 and during his first year in office, Niall raised concerns about a range of issues affecting the rights and welfare of children and young people in Ireland with the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, the UN’s Working Group on Universal Periodic Review, three Oireachtas Committees as well as via several media outlets.
As part of the EDI lunchtime seminar service he is coming to UCD to meet staff and students on Tuesday March 21st from 1-2pm. He will talk about the overall role of the Ombudsman for Children's Office, their role with regard to education and finish off with a questions and answer session.
This event is open to all UCD colleagues and students and is brought to you by the UCD Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
