Dignity and Respect for UCD LGBTI+ Community

Cultivating Allyship for an Inclusive Campus

UCD Dignity and Respect Support Service and UCD EDI LGBTI+ Subgroup are hosting this event to raise awareness in our University about the challenges facing members of our UCD LGBTI+ community related to dignity and respect and how to be an ally and champion LGBTI+ inclusion and supports in UCD.

This event also looks beyond UCD and considers the broader experience of LGBTI+ people in Ireland and the importance of providing an inclusive and supportive work and learning environment for our LGBTI+ employees and students. Professor Agnes Higgins, Lead Author of Being LGBTQI+ in Ireland Report 2024, will share report findings which examined the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTQI+ people in the Republic of Ireland and investigated public attitudes towards LGBTQI+ people.

The panel discussion and presentations will be followed by an interactive session with space for dialogue and reflection on the challenges the LGBTI+ community face both in the University and beyond and how ALL members of the UCD Community can contribute to an inclusive culture through allyship and the continued enhancement of University supports.
