Learn about recent and upcoming events related to menopause including webinar with Dr Deirdre Lundy.

EDI has started a series of networking sessions around Peri-Menopause and Menopause. The aim is to give people a space where they can network, get practical tips from guest specialists, share  stories or just listen.

25 April 2025: We invite you to the next menopause coffee morning. Keen to enhance your wellbeing? Curious about mindfulness? Aware that meditation might be helpful but finding it difficult, boring, annoying? Hard to know where to start? This Mindfulness and Menopause Session with Aoife FitzGerald might be a good place to start. All genders are welcome! Get practical tips, share stories or just listen. 

Date and time: Thursday, 25 April, 10:30 - 11:30

What you will get from this session:

  • An understanding of what mindfulness is (and is not) and how it works
  • A look at the research around how it can help with menopause
  • Exploring and trying out some practical takeaway tools to help bring mindfulness into your busy day to day life

14 March 2024 EDI invitedGillian McConnell, a registered Dietitian and Nutritionist, who talked about the importance of Nutrition, tackle myths around Menopause and nutrition, share tips and recipes and answer questions. The next session is planned for 25 April.

In order to support our equality, diversity, and inclusion planning processes in line with the Gender Equality Action Plan 2020 - 2024 and EDI Strategy 2021 - 2024, we were conducting a short survey developed by the Menopause Hub to obtain the views and insights of UCD employees. MenopauseAwareness Raising Session,Workshop

For employees on theirmenopausejourney, in collaboration with theMenopauseHub to gain a greater understanding of the impact ofmenopause, how to have conversations, seek supports and learn about good practices. This will be followed by aworkshopwhere employees are invited to share their experiences ofmenopauseand the supports they would find useful.

This session awareness-raising session and workshop, delivered by the Menopause Hub took place on Tuesday, 24 January at 10am - 12pm (in-person event)

The purpose of this session:

  • To provide People Managers of all genders with an awareness and understanding of the impact of the menopause and to learn more about having conversations in the workplace ensuring that employees do not have to hide major aspects of their life experience due to the challenges they face going through the menopause.
  • To learn more about good practices that organisations can put in place to support those experiencing the menopause.
  • To engage in a workshop around the types of supports that managers would find useful to enable them to support employees who are experiencing the menopause and to review a draft policy and guidance materials for people managers and employees.

Menopause with Dr Deirdre Lundy

Dr Deirdre Lundy specialises in women’s health and is an expert in menopause care and HRT prescribing and advises GPs through Ireland about the menopause. At any one time there are some 600,000 women in the age group that typically goes through the menopause in Ireland but it is a topic that is not widely spoken about.
