Service Introduction
UCD Estate Services provides support to users of audio-visual teaching technology in the university’s centrally managed shared teaching spaces.
AV equipment can enhance the teaching and learning process and support of this equipment is paramount to ensure it functions correctly. To this end, a support process has been designed in line with the academic year:
Pre-term checks – all AV equipment in shared teaching spaces is checked and tested before the commencement of both the Autumn and Spring Trimesters
Ongoing support – a team of AV technicians are onsite daily during the trimester to assist users in shared teaching spaces, respond to reported faults and conduct rolling maintenance checks of the AV equipment; all measures designed to minimise disruption to the teaching process.
Teaching Support Request – a time slot can be booked with an AV technician to assist with set up at the beginning of a class or to demonstrate AV equipment in a room outside of timetabled bookings
