Financial Reports to Funding Agencies
Cost Statements
Many funding agencies require the submission of periodic scientific and financial reports (cost statements) detailing the progress of a research project. The reporting timelines will be specified in the research contracts.
These cost statements are prepared by the Research Finance Office and submitted to the principal investigator for review before sign-off by the Research Finance Office and submission to the funding agency.
Audits
Periodic audits may be required by a funding agency. These audits can cover both financial and non-financial aspects of a project. If a researcher receives notice of an audit they should contact the (opens in a new window)Research Finance Office for assistance.
