UCD Choral Scholars
UCD Choral Scholars is an award-winning vocal ensemble with a repertoire ranging from the medieval to the contemporary. With scholarships awarded by a panel of professional musicians, successful students from all academic disciplines have the opportunity to enjoy the challenge of participation in UCD Choral Scholars.
Eighteen scholars are appointed annually following a competition for selection. They each receive a scholarship of €1,250 per annum to perform at the University’s ceremonial events, public concerts, services on campus and for the wider UCD community.
The University provides 50% of the funding for the Choral Scholars, who must actively fundraise to make up the balance. In order to fund the scholarships, we rely heavily on the generosity of graduates and staff. The scholarships are essential to maintain the quality of the ensemble and their performance standards.
