About
The Gaelic Athletic Association today is an organisation, which reaches into every corner of the land and has its roots in every Irish Parish. Throughout the Country, legions of voluntary workers willingly make sacrifices to promote its ideals and carry its daily burdens. UCD GAA Club is no different.
About The Club
UCD GAA has a long and proud tradition in providing Gaelic Games opportunities to students of UCD. Today we have five interdependent clubs who field 18 teams per week while our handball members compete in the One Wall and 40 x 20 Tournaments. Dating back to the start of the 20th century, UCD has fielded Men’s Football and Hurling teams for 124 years now. The Camogie club started soon after in 1908 and currently stands on top of the Ashbourne Cup Roll of Honour with 35 titles. Ladies football began later on in 1992 as a group of Ag’ Science girls officially founded the club. The growth and popularity of Ladies Football in UCD and countrywide has been phenomenal to date.
Ultimately, UCD GAA is committed to providing A Home Away from Home for all students who participate in our club. We seek to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment in which students can develop and grow on and off the field.
