Hurling

University College Dublin has a long and illustrious history in the game of hurling. The UCD Hurling Club was originally founded in 1900 with the motto ‘Comthrom Feinne’ and ‘Ad Astra’, Latin for ‘To the stars’.

About the Hurling Club

In the hurling club, the Fitzgibbon Cup is the highlight of the intervarsity year and produces magnificent football contests in the winter months.  The senior team also competes in the Higher Education League. UCD also has intermediate and junior hurling teams whom compete in the higher education league and championships.
