Medicine Offer Holders

The following information is intended for current UCD Medicine Offer Holders.

Irish Medical degrees are registrable in Ireland and recognised internationally. Internship posts in Ireland for non-EU graduates cannot be guaranteed as the number and funding of intern posts is determined by the Irish health service and is not within the jurisdiction of Medical Schools in Ireland.

This does not affect US/Canadian graduates who normally return to North America immediately after their graduation to start their residencies.

All other non-EU citizens should check with the relevant medical licensing authorities to ensure that you are aware of the licensing requirements for graduates of Irish medical schools who wish to return to their home country to practice.

The tuition fees and deposit details are specified in your official online offer letter.

To complete the acceptance process please remit your non-refundable* deposit, as per the terms in your offer letter.

The default deposit for Medicine (MDS2) is €8,000 and displays when you select Accept and Pay the Deposit action button.
Where a confirmed OR conditional offer has been issued and 100% OR 50% of Year 1 tuition fees, respectively, is stipulated as a non-refundable deposit, you have 2 options:
1. Pay the €8,000 deposit and then select one of the payment methods outlined at How to Pay, to pay the remaining balance owed. (preferred option)
2. Pay the full deposit amount (100% or 50% of Year 1 tuition fees, per your offer letter) via one of the available payment methods at How to Pay and then email globaladmissions@ucd.ie, so that the deposit can be verified and updated as received, which will enable you to submit your acceptance online.
You will not be able to submit your acceptance until you receive confirmation from Global Admissions that your deposit has been received and processed.

Please note that if you do not pay your non-refundable deposit by the deadline specified in your official offer letter, your offer will lapse. The amount of the deposit and the due date are not negotiable.

*The deposit is non-refundable except where conditions of offer are not met or where a visa is refused**. In such cases 5% of the deposit will be forfeited. These conditions are particular to Medicine. For additional information, please refer to UCD Refunds Policy.

** In addition, you must have shown genuine intent to study at UCD but were unable to obtain a visa. Late or delayed visa submissions will not be considered.

Students are also required to pay a Healthcare Screening cost of €330. This is in addition to the tuition fees noted above. Please refer to the relevant information for your programme at Health Screening Information.

UCD's Medicine programmes are not currently eligible for Federal Aid loans.
