UCD staff at Una Europa Staff Week 2023

A group of university staff in Bologna.

In 2023, seven UCD staff took part in Staff Week, hosted by the University of Bologna in Italy. Five staff were participants, while two UCD colleagues delivered workshops to attendees.

Last year’s theme was ‘Embrace Equity, Empower Inclusion’, with 50 colleagues from across the Una Europa alliance attending a week of interactive workshops, talks and cultural experiences in Bologna.

Feedback from UCD staff was overwhelmingly positive.

“Staff Week was a wonderful experience and very worthwhile, providing a valuable opportunity to engage with European partner institutions in relation to best practices around equality, diversity and inclusion,” said Philip Russell, Information Services Manager, UCD Library. “I would highly recommend it to colleagues in UCD - it was an inspiring week and highly productive particularly in terms new knowledge, the sharing of best practice ideas and relationship building.”

“It was very beneficial to see how other universities address issues. It opened my mind to new solutions, and the programme inspired me with new ideas and motivated me going forward. I enjoyed connecting with people working on similar issues,” said Nadia Matulova, Resourcing Project Officer, UCD HR.
