Two UCD engineering researchers have been recognised at the inaugural Una Europa PhD Impact awards.
Ava Azadi Chegeni, from UCD’s School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, was named one of three overall winners, while Sohini Mishra, from UCD’s School of Civil Engineering, was Highly Commended by the competition judges.
The Una Europa PhD Impact awards aim to recognise and celebrate the impact, and potential impact, of research and researchers across the Una Europa alliance.
Una Europa is an alliance of 11 research-intensive universities, including UCD, who share the common goal of developing a truly European University of the Future.
The competition, which was modelled on UCD’s own Research Impact competition, invited doctoral researchers in the area of Future Materials to describe how their research practice impacts on society and contributes to the world.
