Two UCD students have been awarded scholarships to the Yenching Academy of Peking University in Beijing. The two students will join 115 other outstanding young scholars in the interdisciplinary China Studies Master's program this September.
In total 90 international students from 37 different countries will come together with 27 Chinese students. Through coursework, independent research, and field studies, they will examine China’s past, present and future, with particular emphasis on China’s development and role in the world. The incoming scholars have attended 91 universities, including University College Dublin, the University of Oxford, University College London, University of Cambridge, Harvard University, and Sciences Po Paris.
The Yenching Academy of Peking University was established in 2014. The goal was to push academic study of China beyond the boundaries of traditionally defined Humanities and Social Sciences disciplines through a specially designed, English-taught Master’s program.
The 2022 recruitment cycle for international candidates will open in August 2021 and last until December 2021. For more detailed information, please visit the Yenching Academy of Peking University (opens in a new window)official website.
