UCD and UNICA (an institutional network of 53 universities across Europe) are hosting a two-day event focusing on ‘The Future of Work/Workers and Impact on Universities’.
Two days of workshops and events will take place on 23rd and 24th May on UCD campus. Stakeholders from academia, industry, and government are invited to explore the profound implications of AI on work and workers' lives, particularly within the context of higher education.
Through interactive sessions, participants will share experiences, insights, and strategies to equip universities in preparing graduates for the AI-fuelled era. From envisioning the future of work to equipping graduates with essential digital and soft skills, these workshops will offer invaluable insights and actionable strategies to keep universities ahead in the AI era.
The free event is aimed at:
- Experts in innovation in education
- Heads of career offices
- Heads of alumni relations
- Representatives responsible for the university's third mission (service to society, civic engagement, outreach etc)
Confirmed speakers include Joe Carthy, Lead Coordinator of UNICA & The City Working Group and Head of UCD School of Computer Science; Donnacha Driscoll, General Manager, Insight Centre for Data Analytics; and Maeve Houlihan, Associate Dean and Director, UCD Lochlann Quinn School of Business.
