UCD hosts highly successful Virtual Study Abroad event

On Wednesday 23 September, UCD Global’s Study Abroad team, in collaboration with colleagues in Schools & Colleges and Summer at UCD, hosted a very successful information session for US partners and prospective students.  Although the university has participated in over 20 Virtual Study Abroad Fairs hosted by US partner institutions throughout September, this was the first UCD hosted event.

During the first hour, the team presented semester programmes.  The second hour was devoted to summer options including the launch of two new programmes in Irish Studies and Design, Data Science & Discovery.

Most of UCD’s US partners have not made a decision yet on whether to permit students to study abroad in spring 2021.  As well as showcasing UCD’s programmes, the session was intended to provide the necessary information to assist our partners in making these key decisions.

The event was very well attended by more than 80 US partners.  After the presentations, the Q & A session was very warm and engaging.  The team intends to follow this successful event by hosting a number of 20 minute ‘bite-size’ programme-focused virtual sessions in early November.
