Call for Nominations for the U21 2022 Awards
Universitas 21 (U21) is running a call for nominations for the U21 2022 Recognition Scheme Awards for staff and students.
U21 comprises 28 research-intensive institutions, with over 1 million students and 200,000 staff. The network shares common values of excellence, collaboration and internationalisation by creating various international academic and professional opportunities for researchers, staff and students, and tackling common worldwide obstacles facing the higher education sector.
There are two categories of awards, the U21 Awards for academic colleagues, professional staff and teams of any seniority, and Leaders of the Future Awards for alumni and current students.
Staff/Colleagues - U21 Awards
- The U21 Awards were designed to recognise and reward impactful contributions that have transcended barriers in the world of higher education, or have further progressed the Sustainable Development Goals at U21 institutions.
- A person or team that is part of academic or professional services staff at a U21 member university that has had an international impact may be nominated. Any level of experience is eligible aside from current or former Presidents, and other Senior Leaders of a U21 member.

Students - Leaders of the Future Awards
- The Leaders of the Future Awards celebrate current students who have contributed towards global collaboration and have shown excellence in one of the following areas: leading change, creating connection, empowering others and influencing others.
- Current U21 member university students or alumni who have graduated within the last 10 years may be nominated.
- Further information and the link for nomination submission can be accessed on the Leaders of the Future Awards web page. The deadline for nomination is Friday, 9 December 2022.
The winners for both Awards will be announced in April 2023.
