PGR StudentSurvey.ie 2025

PGR StudentSurvey.ie is back

UCD graduate research students are invited to take part in the Irish Survey of Student Engagement for Postgraduate Research Students (PGR StudentSurvey.ie), which will be open for responses from Tuesday, 18th February, to Tuesday, 11th March 2025. This national survey, conducted every two years, provides an opportunity for graduate research students in Irish higher education to share their academic, personal, and social development experiences, as well as feedback on the support provided by their institutions.

On Tuesday, 18th February, UCD graduate research students will receive a personal email from UCD@qemailserver.com, inviting them to participate in the survey. The survey can also be accessed via the PGR StudentSurvey.ie webpage.

By fully engaging with the survey, respondents help ensure that both current and future research students receive the best possible support and resources to succeed academically and professionally. Student feedback plays a crucial role in shaping quality enhancement initiatives at UCD.

Survey Anonymity

The PGR StudentSurvey.ie is completely anonymous, ensuring that all responses remain confidential.

Why Does This Survey Run?

The objectives of StudentSurvey.ie are to:

  • Increase transparency regarding student experiences and engagement in higher education.
  • Provide students with a direct platform to express their views on their academic journey.
  • Help higher education institutions reflect on student engagement and implement impactful policies.
  • Identify and strengthen areas where students are positively engaged.
  • Highlight areas needing further improvement to enhance student experiences.
  • Continuously improve teaching, learning, and student engagement strategies.
  • Enable comparisons across national, sectoral, and international higher education systems.
How UCD uses PGR StudentSurvey.ie Data

UCD receives anonymised student data from a third-party provider, ensuring that no individual identifiers are used. The data is then analysed and shared with Colleges and Schools, where it is used to inform annual graduate research student quality enhancement action plans. This process helps ensure that student feedback directly contributes to the continuous improvement of research student support and academic resources at UCD.
