Bespoke careers sessions for graduate research students
Request a bespoke session in your School/College
UCD's dedicated Career and Skills Consultant for graduate research students, Ms Tara Hughes offers tailored sessions within Schools. Faculty and professional staff who organize events for postgraduate researchers can request these sessions. These popular and easily accessible sessions are generally well-received and often integrated into full- or half-day events, or workshop series running over a number of weeks.
Designed collaboratively, the sessions are customized to the specific audience (discipline, stage of study, and whether it's exclusively UCD students or a mixed group). Most sessions are interactive, and some have elements of light relief within them.

“Tara’s annual Transferable Skills workshop is a cornerstone of the Graduate Futures Workshop for Arts and Humanities. Students in the workshop prepare for both academic and industry job markets; Tara’s accessible, friendly, practical workshop has helped our job candidates remake their materials and recalibrate their approach to the job search. Likewise, students have found the 1 on 1 resume review to be a key preparation. Highly recommended for anyone preparing recent grads!”
