About

UCD Health Affairs works to promote health initiatives and strategies across all of all of UCD's Health Sciences and the 12 hospitals in the RHA HSE Dublin + South East.

UCD Health Affairs

UCD Health Affairs was established in 2018 and forms part of the College of Health and Agricultural Sciences.  UCD Health Affairs works with the health science schools to provide a formal channel for cooperation and collaboration between RHA HSE Dublin and South East and UCD, its primary academic partner.  This includes developing and implementing the strategic vision and direction for healthcare education, research and innovation across the group and ultimately the successful creation of an Academic Health Science System.

Chief Academic Officer of the Ireland East Hospital Group and Vice Principal for Health Affairs (opens in a new window)Professor Tim Lynch leads the Office of Health Affairs at UCD which is based on the UCD Belfield campus. It works closely with members of the IEHG and UCD on the establishment of Clinical Academic and Service Directorates, joint hospital and UCD research projects, improving communication between the hospitals and UCD and working closely with other Chief Academic Officers throughout Ireland on shared projects.
