IEHG Hospitals Roll Out COVID-19 Vaccine

The Ireland East Hospital Group (IEHG) began the roll-out of its COVID-19 vaccination programme on 5 January last and since then over 50,000 doses have been adminstered across our Group, including to staff in our 11 hospitals, CHO and private community partners, the private hospitals within our area, and colleagues in the National Ambulance Service (NAS). IEHG has also delivered the vaccine to residents and staff in 32 nursing homes aligned with our Group. 

The coordination and administration of the vaccine across all of these sites and across four CHOs in such a short space of time was an incredible undertaking and a demonstration of the collaborative spirit of our staff and their resolve to protect those most at risk from this virus..

Congratulations to all the teams in each of our 11 hospitals who made this happen and to our Chief Director of Nursing & Midwifery Paul Gallagher and COVID-19 vaccine coordinator Celine Conroy on leading out on the roll-out at a Group level.

The IEHG HR Team is also currently working hard recruiting vaccinators for the mass vaccination clinics across our area.
