IEHG End-of-Year Review 2021
The IEHG End-of-Year Review 2021 was published on 22 December 2021.
The Review demonstrates the incredible work that has taken place at a Group-level, in collaboration with UCD Health Affairs, and within IEHG’s 11 hospitals over what was another extremely challenging 12 months for our health service and staff.
Throughout 2021, many joint projects between (opens in a new window)Ireland East Hospital Group (IEHG) and UCD Health Affairs pressed ahead to advance an Academic Health Science System (AHSS) for Ireland. The weekly Chief Academic Officer (CAO) Group/Forum (Chaired by (opens in a new window)Professor Tim Lynch, Chief Academic Officer for IEHG and Vice Principal for UCD Health Affairs) with the CAOs across the seven Hospital Groups in Ireland has made significant progress on some national collaborative projects, e.g., the firm establishment of a National Irish COVID-19 Biobank (NICB) with HRB and the National Simulation Strategy with the NDTP.
IEHG uses the strengths of its 11 hospitals linked with UCD to develop academic clinical excellence in genetics, cancer, cardiovascular, women and children’s health, clinical neuroscience, radiology, immunology and informatics.
