This report provides the theoretical, conceptual, and practical background for developing the Irish ‘Health in Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)’ Guidance.

This report summarises the findings of a systematic review of 20 Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Environmental Reports (ERs) (10 recent SEA ERs from Ireland and 10 good practice SEA ER examples from other European nations).

This report describes the findings from 16 interviews with practitioners involved in the preparation of Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs) as well as experts in Health Impact Assessment (HIA) familiar with SEA on the value added by the effective consideration of health in SEA.
