First steering meeting

Our first steering meeting was held on 24 May 2023.

Summary:

The ‘proportionate’ coverage of health in SEA is subjective, and largely dependent on the scope and scale of the plan. The project team and the Steering Committee agreed that the SEA scoping stage, including stakeholders consultation, is essential in defining the extent of 'proportionate'. Such stakeholder engagement would also help strive for a balance between their expectations for the coverage of health in SEA and what is realistic to deliver, which can often be constrained by data and knowledge. The Steering Committee agreed that definitions of the terms 'health' and 'proportionate' for the purpose of this study are necessary. It was also agreed at the meeting that ten Irish and ten international good practice case studies, spanning planning hierarchies and sectors, will be reviewed to establish the state-of-the-art on the current coverage of health in SEA.

Kick off!

The project kicked off on the 30th of March 2023 and will run until the 30th March 2025
