Anding Zhu

Prof. Anding Zhu

Head of Group / Academic Staff

Anding Zhu received the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2004. He is currently a Professor in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UCD. His research interests include nonlinear modelling and device/system characterisation techniques, with a particular emphasis on behavioural modelling and digital linearisation of RF power amplifiers. He also has interests in high efficiency power amplifier design, wireless transmitter architectures, RF-DAC, digital signal processing and nonlinear system identification algorithms.

Ruijia Liu

Dr. Ruijia Liu

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Ruijia Liu received the B.E. degree in electronic information science and technology from Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, China, in 2017, and the Ph.D. degree in electromagnetic field and microwave technology from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2022. He is currently working as a Post-Doc Research Fellow in the RF & Microwave Research Group at UCD. His research interests include broadband high-efficiency gallium nitride (GaN) power amplifier (PA) design and monolithic microwave integrated circuits for RF/microwave and millimeter-wave applications.

Hang Yin

Mr. Hang Yin

PhD Student

Hang Yin received the B.E. degree in information engineering and the M.E. degree in electromagnetic fields and microwave technology from Southeast University (SEU), Nanjing, China, in 2018 and 2021, respectively. He is currently pursuing the PhD degree in the RF & Microwave Research Group at UCD. His research focuses on flexible and smart digital predistortion algorithms/techniques for RF power amplifiers.

Abu Shakil Ahmed

Mr. Abu Shakil Ahmed

PhD Student

Abu Shakil Ahmed is working in RF & Microwave Research Group for a PhD degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He received an MSc degree in 2021 from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary, and a BSc degree in 2018 from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, Bangladesh. He served as a Lecturer at Leading University, Bangladesh from 2018 to 2019. His area of research is the digital linearization techniques of phased array transmitters.

Qian Wu

Ms. Qian Wu

PhD Student

Qian Wu received the B.E. degree from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Nanjing, China, in 2019, and the M.E. degree from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2022. She is currently pursuing the PhD degree in the RF & Microwave Research Group at UCD. Her research interests include linearization techniques for power amplifiers and beamforming systems.

Yicun Guo

Yicun Guo received his B.E. degree in Information Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2019 and his M.S. degree from KU Leuven, Belgium, in 2022. He is working towards a Ph.D. in the RF & Microwave Research Group at UCD. His current research interests include power amplifier design.

Haoyang Jia

Mr. Haoyang Jia

PhD Student

Haoyang Jia received the B.Sc and M.Sc degrees from South China University of Technology (SCUT), Guangzhou, China, in 2019 and 2022, respectively. Currently, he is working towards the PhD degree in the RF & Microwave Research Group at UCD. His research interests include power amplifier and transmitter for 5G wireless communication system at mm-waves.
