Steffen Rimner, Assistant Professor in the History of International Affairs and Ad Astra Fellow, was invited to deliver a public lecture on his book "Opium's Long Shadow: From Asian Revolt to Global Drug Control" (Harvard University Press) at the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia. The American Philosophical Society is the oldest learned society in the United States, founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1743. Steffen is a former grantee of the Society.
