Research Associates

The Research Associate status at the UCD Humanities Institute (HI) serves to enable early career researchers to align themselves with the HI for one academic year. This status can be used when submitting conference papers, applying for jobs and funding schemes and when applying to have work published.

It is aimed at early career researchers who are post PhD and / or postdoctoral fellowship but have yet to be employed as an academic. It is for those scholars who spent either their PhD or their postdoctoral fellowship at the Humanities Institute.

All Research Associates are given a UCD email address for a period of one academic year at which time the Research Associate status will expire. The one-year term can not be extended.

It may be possible to offer desk space on an ad hoc basis if the individual has not got access to space elsewhere in the university. This can only be given to those looking for short term space while applying for jobs, postdoctoral fellowships, submitting work for presentation at a conference or for publication.

Those wishing to apply can do so by emailing (opens in a new window)humanities@ucd.ie copying the Institute Manager (opens in a new window)valerie.norton@ucd.ie giving an outline of their plans for the year.
