Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters - TISE

Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters- MSc in Transition, Innovation and Sustainability Environments (TISE).

This Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters is an interdisciplinary programme which aims to deepen our
knowledge of sustainable and resilient social, business, communication and technological processes
and structures.

The MSc in Transition, Innovation and Sustainability Environments (TISE) delivers a holistic take on
transitional processes and innovation strategies, educating students to be change agents for the
growing challenges in complex human-environment systems.

Under the umbrella of Systems Science , it integrates Socio-Cultural Studies , Social
Sciences  Economics and the impact of Technology on today’s societies, leading to a deeper
understanding of the multiplex environments and their issues. Students develop sets of tools and
methodologies to approach the opportunities and risks that emerge from these transitional
processes, that will allow them to intervene, at the level of companies and governmental and non-
governmental institutions, in order to promote sustainability.

The EMJM curriculum is structured as follows:
1st semester (Autumn, Year 1): Culture and Transition (NOVA FCSH)
2nd semester (Spring, Year 1): Ethics and Information Systems (UCD)
3rd semester (Autumn Year 2): Economics in Transition (PUEB)
4th semester (Spring, Year 2): Systems Science and Transdisciplinarity (DUK)

Students will learn to:

structures and mechanisms;
 - Develop a systemic understanding of the complex interactions and implications within
specific macro (cultural, social and economic) areas;
 - Facilitate innovation, interventions and solution spaces, enabling an environment for
