Seals

No Rathlin man likes to meddle with the seals, fling a stone at them or anything like that. They say the dead come back as seals. There used to be two seals over there used to be seen when the boats was coming over for here (the mainland) and they called them ‘John Beg’ and ‘John Roe’. Them was two old Rathlin men used to be on the Island, and they would always meet at a certain point in the water and have a chat when on their way over here. And the two seals used to be seen meeting the same.
