Virtual Learning Environment - Retention Policy

IT Services is happy to announce the introduction of the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Retention Policy. Developed in collaboration with staff input across the University and recently approved by the University Management Team (UMT), this policy represents a step forward in ensuring the integrity, security, and efficiency of our online educational platform.

What is the VLE Retention Policy?

The VLE Retention Policy is designed to govern the management and preservation of digital content and user data within our Virtual Learning Environment. It includes guidelines and procedures for the retention of course materials, communication records, user data, and administrative documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in data governance.

Rollout and Implementation

To ensure a smooth transition and successful implementation of the VLE Retention Policy, the following steps will be taken:

  1. Communication: Faculty members will receive communication detailing the policy objectives, scope, and key principles.
  2. Support: Ongoing support will be provided to address any questions or concerns and assist faculty in adhering to the policy guidelines via the IT Services Knowledge Base
