Communication Channels

Communication Channels

  • Announcements: Check the Announcements section on your course homepage for critical updates from your instructors.  This is often the first place where instructors will post important information such as changes in the schedule, new assignments, or clarifications on course materials.
  • Email: Instructors may send emails directly through Brightspace. Ensure you check your inbox regularly to avoid missing essential communications about your course.  Emails may include assignment feedback, important reminders, and other direct messages from your instructor.
  • Discussion Boards: Participate in Discussion Boards where you can engage in conversations with both your instructors and classmates.  This is a great place to ask questions, share insights, and collaborate on course-related topics.
  • Instant Messages: Brightspace features an Instant Messaging tool for real-time communication.  Use this feature to quickly reach out to your instructors or peers for immediate questions or discussions.
  • Calendar: The Calendar in Brightspace helps you keep track of scheduled events, assignment due dates, and other important course milestones.  Regularly check the calendar to stay on top of your responsibilities.
  • Notifications: Manage Notifications to receive real-time updates on course activities, upcoming deadlines, and new content.  You can customise your notification settings to receive alerts via email or directly to your mobile device, ensuring you never miss an important update.
