Sophos for macOS not receiving updates, 7 October

Monday, 7 October 24

What is happening:

On macOS 14 Sonoma and macOS 15 Sequoia, Apple may trigger a full disk access requirement for the Sophos Updater to update the Sophos files on the system. When this issue occurs it will not be possible to receive Sophos updates until the Sophos Updater has been given full disk access permissions.

To correct this issue:

1) Open System Settings

2) Select Privacy & Security

3) Select Full Disk Access.

4) SophosUpdater should be listed. If it is not in list, but the issue is occurring, add SophosUpdater manually by clicking +, and browsing to /Library/Sophos Anti-Virus/SophosUpdater. SophosUpdater will now be listed. Turn it on and attempt an update.
