2nd UCD-TCD Ageing Research Network (Asian Chapter) Meeting: Roundtable with Prof. Mei-chun Cheung

Prof. Mei-chun Cheung (Department of Social Work, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)) is visiting UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice / UCD Centre for Japanese Studies on 6 and 7 June 2024. The Department of Social Work, CUHK and UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice have been partners for 8 years, since Assoc. Prof. Kodate’s visit to CUHK in 2015. Assoc. Profs. Mei-chun Cheung, Naonori Kodate (Principal Investigator) and Sarah Donnelly worked on the Toyota Foundation-funded interdisciplinary project “Harmonization towards the establishment of Person-centered, Robotics-aided Care System (HarP:RoCS)” between 2019 and 2022.
She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology, specialized in clinical neuropsychology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has also received clinical training at the University of California at San Diego in the U.S. and the University of Birmingham in England.
Prof. Cheung’s research interest involves clinical neuropsychology, clinical intervention, aging and dementia, Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is also a registered social worker, registered clinical psychologist and Associate Fellow of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (HKPS), and the vice-chairperson of the Hong Kong Neuropsychological Association (HKNA).
JaSt will co-host the roundtable session, bringing together TCD & UCD social science researchers engaged in ageing research.
