Dr Naonori Kodate appointed as Adjunct Research Professor, Center for Frontier Medical Engineering, Chiba University, Japan

Assoc. Prof. Naonori Kodate has been appointed as Research Professor at the Center for Frontier Medical Engineering, Chiba University, Japan.

Assoc. Prof. Naonori Kodate has been offered a Research Professorship position at the Center for Frontier Medical Engineering, Chiba University, Japan. Dr Kodate’s research collaboration with Prof. Wenwei Yu (School of Engineering, Chiba University) started in 2016, and expanded to include Prof. Sayuri Suwa (former Vice President & Dean, Graduate School of Nursing, Chiba University), Prof. Mina Ishimaru (Graduate School of Nursing, Chiba University) and Prof. Mayuko Tsujimura (Shiga University of Medical Science) on the team. UCD signed an MoU with Chiba University in 2016. This appointment, unanimously approved by the Center’s committee, recognises past and ongoing international research projects co-led by Dr Kodate and Prof. Yu. It is expected that as Research Professor, Dr Kodate will continue fostering and strengthening research culture and infrastructure that have been built over 8 years between the two universities , while conducting his research collaboration with engineers and medical/care practitioners in the area of robotics-aided care at home and in communities.
