Supporting Ageing with Communication Robot “Sota”

Japan is at the sharp edge of population ageing. Assistive technologies such as home monitoring robots have been developed to support care for older people. Following on from last year’s seminar & workshop, researchers from Chiba University will be returning to UCD, this time with communication robots called Sota and Palro.

The talk will cover a research project testing the effectiveness of such robots in a home care environment and will be followed by demonstration.
