International Mother Languages Day Competition 2022
For International Mother Languages Day on 21st February we asked the question: 'Why do you love learning languages?' Here are our three winning entries:
1.) Aoife
Aoife is in her 3rd year ofthe BA Art History and Film Studies. She is currently on a year abroad exchange in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and has been trying to learn as much Dutch as she can so the she can talk more freely to people. Knowing the language also helps her when she is in Dutch art galleries and museums. Apart from her conversational Dutch, she is fairly fluent in Irish.
2.) James
James is currently studying medicine in his second year. He did French and Irish in secondary school and took Spanish as an elective this year.
