Sutherland Building
UCD Sutherland School of Law, the largest and most diverse law school in Ireland, is committed to the development and creation of new initiatives, to enriching the educational environment of its student body, to working in partnership with the practising legal profession and to establishing a major, well-regarded and authoritative presence in the international legal community. The Sutherland School of Law building is the first purpose-built Irish law school in Ireland and was designed with the principles of community and communication in mind. Completed in 2013, the state-of-the-art facilities include the Arthur Cox Clinical Legal Education Centre which houses negotiation and arbitration suites, a Judge's Chamber, Witness Room, and Moot Court.
In addition to numerous teaching, study, relaxation and breakout spaces, the building houses three state-of-the-art lecture theatres, seating numbers from 100 to 320, plus a fully catered café on the ground floor. Other features include:
- WIFI throughout the building
- Standardised teaching stations in lecture theatres
- Standardised technology in seminar and tutorial rooms
- SUAS computer stations for student use in various areas throughout the building
- Lecture capture system in theatres and Moot Court allowing recording and live streaming of lectures and events
- Sophisticated AV set up in Moot Court allowing replication of real life court room situations
- Broadcast facility between theatres and court room
- Information screens on each floor allowing better communication of School and University news
