Bashir Otukoya, PhD student at the Sutherland School of Law International Lecture - EGSL Rotterdam, 16th July 2019 On 16th July 2019, Bashir Otukoya, PhD student at the Sutherland School of Law in University College Dublin, Erasmus Graduate School of Law Junior Fellow, and Lecturer of EU Law at Griffith College Dublin, delivered a lecture titled “Access to Eurozenship” which discussed the concept of citizenship of the European Union and ideas surrounding an autonomous EU citizenship which is not derivative of national citizenship. The lecture was delivered at the EGSL Lunchtime Seminars at the Erasmus School of Law, Rotterdam. Throughout the academic year monthly PhD lunch lectures are organized by EGSL, providing PhD researchers with the opportunity to present their research to other PhD researchers and receive feedback. The Lecture was extremely well received and provided those in attendance with thought-provoking ideas about what it means to be an EU Citizen in contrast with being a citizen of a particular nation. |
