Much of our research aims to provide an evidence base for the conservation of marine biodiversity and the management of human activity in the marine environment. We collaborate extensively with researchers and stakeholders in Ireland and around the world and have received support from a wide range of funding agencies.

Research Projects

ECOSTRUCTURE logo ECOSTRUCTURE
Bringing together five leading universities in Wales and Ireland, the goal of Ecostructure is to research and raise awareness of eco-engineering solutions to the challenge of coastal adaptation to climate change. Ecostructure aims to promote the incorporation of secondary ecological and societal benefits into coastal defence and renewable energy structures, with benefits to the environment, to coastal communities, and to the blue and green sectors of the Irish and Welsh economies.
