Congratulations to Benjamin Leather, who recently completed his PhD in the School of Mathematics and Statistics and has been awarded the IOP Gravitational Physics Group thesis prize for his thesis submitted last year. Ben is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics
The IOP Gravitational Physics Group is an annual thesis prize co-sponsored by the Institute of Physics and the Institute of Physics Publishing. The prize is awarded to members who have passed their viva voce exam and have shown excellence in research and communication skills in their thesis. The winner receives a cash prize of £500 and will be given the opportunity to submit a paper to Classical and Quantum Gravity based on their thesis. They will also be invited to present their work at a UK BritGrav meeting.
