The UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics is the first Maths Department in Ireland which took part in the Simon Marais Competition at undergraduate level. The event was organised by the joint Australian Universities and this year gathered students from India, South Korea, Netherlands, Spain and UK.

The UCD students were trained by Associate Professor Marius Ghergu, Assistant Professor John Sheekey and Dr Daniele Cassaza.
