Abstract
Fernando Blasco is Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Polytechnical University of Madrid. During his academic career he has been awarded several mathematical prizes such as the Young Researcher Award of the Polytechnical University of Madrid. His other great hobby, magic, has led him to become a member of the Spanish Society of Illusionists. In 2005 he was awarded the first prize of Ciencia de Accion ( Science in Action) in the area of performance for his transmission of mathematical ideas using illusionism.

In 2007, he published his first book on the interaction between mathematics and magic, entitled "Matemagic"
